Has anyone out there tried raising food fish at home for personal use or as a business?
I've been looking into it over the last couple of days and might give it a try.
The only thing holding me up right now is that we may be moving in the near future and I hate to start a new project right now. This is a good time to gather information on this as well as barn building for me.
From what I have read, if you can keep a home aquarium, you can farm fish on a small scale - same thing only the goal is to put size on the fish efficiently, and everything is scaled up in size.
The article on vermicomposting is great, since this is a good source of food for fish, as well as using the castings to fertilize garden areas. By the way, when you clean out your fish tanks, the water and solids make great fertilizer also.
At any rate, if anyone can pass on their experience and knowledge, I would appreciate it.
