Rain, Hope field day, and Mena

Written by uamg

It was not an easy drive to Hope early this morning.I went through really driving rain and then light showers but made it to Hope by 8:00 am.In spite of the weather there was a large turnout.

The event started indoors with several lectures. It was pouring rain during those, but by the time it came for the outside horticulture talks, the rain was gone and we had mild temperatures. We saw some new bee insect trials, kaolin clay treatments for primocane blackberries, and variety trials on blueberries and blackberries.

After the field trials we had a wonderful lunch, before heading into an agent meeting to do some program planning.

Then Beth and I drove to Mena to meet with their Master Gardeners tonight.Once again we went through periods of rain and that is supposed to happen again tomorrow for the drive home.
